Greensoil launches new project in the Netherlands

October 2025

GreenSoil has initiated a new soil remediation project in the Netherlands, focusing on the in-situ biological degradation of chlorinated volatile organic compounds (cVOCs).

The project applies a smart groundwater recirculation system equipped with 15 filters, which can be adjusted to extraction or infiltration depending on site conditions. This setup enables a controlled and effective treatment strategy.

As part of the remediation approach, GreenSoil will:

  • Extract and treat groundwater using Dehalo GS, our in-house developed electron donor.
  • Re-infiltrate treated water into targeted areas to accelerate the clean-up process.
  • Stimulate natural microbial degradation across an area of more than 300 m² and to a depth of 6 meters below ground level, treating an estimated 1,800 m³ of contaminated soil.

Over a 12-month operational period, the system will recirculate and flush the subsurface more than 20 times, promoting a stable, reliable, and sustainable remediation outcome.

With extensive experience in biological and nature-based remediation techniques, GreenSoil remains committed to delivering innovative, effective solutions for cleaner soils and groundwater.
